I thought I had some pictures of the progress we’re making on the farm. I don’t. But what I did find was a bunch of pictures from our last family outing. I’ll get back to you on the progress we’ve made on the farm.
Here are some pictures of the last family fishing trip. I’m not an especially big fan of fishing. I like hanging out by the water, but with the kids and the river, I just get really nervous and it takes a lot of work to keep the kids from falling in. It’s stressful. And what I like about fishing is hanging out by the water and not catching anything. If you add in kids, it is no longer fun. We managed and we had a good time.
This is my oldest, Caden with a submarine that he made. It is filled with dirt so it sinks when you throw it in the river. But then the wand washes out and it floats. Pretty amazing.
This is Spencer… we’ll come back to Spencer, I have a different story about him.
This is me helping Shackleton fish.
This is me helping Micah fish.
Oh, I also got a picture of the baby… Or my wife did.
People kept asking if we caught anything. Of course not, that isn’t why we go fishing. I caught a bunch of memories and all of the fish stayed safe and sound. I like it that way.
Spencer is a budding chef. He keeps coming up with recipes that he wants to try. We try to encourage him, but sometimes he needs more guidance than others. The other day, he suggested that we make tea (which is odd, because we don’t really drink tea). He wanted to make carrot, lettuce and kiwi tea. We redirected that one and suggested he try something different. If you want to make that tea and let us know how it is, please feel free.
Spencer’s next idea was cookie bread. He suggested making bread dough, and then making cookie dough and then mixing them together. We did it and it wasn’t too bad. It didn’t slice especially well, it sort of crumbled, but it tasted… it tasted like a loaf of bread with half a pound of butter and loads of sugar in it. I really thought it was pretty good. Not healthy, but it tasted good. Here is a picture of the bread.
